About the Poem

Written a year ago, this poem is a reflection of a heart in turmoil. The weather today takes me back to the emotions I felt during its conception. I share this now, hoping to transport you to that very moment.

A Song of Sadness

A heart was hurting, on a day with gloomy clouds.
It’s only pain and desperation he sees around!
Stripped bare midst cold, this cruel test bewilders,
His soul yearns for a haven, free from life’s rough swells.
In unrelenting pain, he hears echoing screams,
Lost in this labyrinth, his weary eyes dream.
The winds summon memories of a distant past,
Will he learn to love himself, and make peace at last?
Will the pain embrace him in its final hold,
Or will Spring bring him solace, as it unfolds?
